Any tips for sculpting with polymer clay?

I’m planning on making a Kingdom Hearts sculpture with Sora, Donald, and Goofy. Ideally, I’d like for them to be about 6-8 inches in height. I plan on using SuperSculpey. Does anyone have any recommendations as far as turning a 2D sketch to 3D a/o clay and sculpting techniques? :D

    Ahh! I love it!
I’ve worked a lot with sculpey, and would say that your tools are most important, for the detail. You could invest in a set of fine detail clay tools. I used things I found like flat head screwdrivers, knives, toothpicks, floss.
Also, 2D to 3D, as my ceramics teacher kept telling me, "give them a butt". Meaning, it’s easy to get caught up in Front View and Back View, but don’t forget Side View too!
